For over five decades, the Kundu family has stood as a cornerstone of business and community development in the region. The journey began in 1972 under the vision and leadership of Mr. G. S. Kundu, whose entrepreneurial spirit laid a strong foundation for the family’s future ventures. In 1986, this legacy was carried forward and expanded by Mrs. Namita Kundu, who brought a new dimension to the business by shifting from manufacturing to the seed and pesticide trade.
Her foresight and dedication played a vital role in strengthening the family’s presence in the agricultural sector. Continuing this rich heritage, their eldest son, Mr. Rajarshi Kundu, combined his academic expertise in Botany with his passion for agriculture to establish “MALI.” Situated in Bowbazar, Krishnanagar—widely regarded as the agricultural heart of Nadia—MALI quickly grew into a trusted and respected name in the field of agri-distribution. The brand became synonymous with quality, reliability, and a deep commitment to supporting farmers across the region.
Alongside this, the younger son, Mr. Ratnarshi Kundu, chose a creative entrepreneurial path. With a strong foundation in commerce, he ventured into the world of cultural and festival management, giving rise to “MAYURI.” Over the years, MAYURI has flourished into a vibrant and successful business, known for its excellence in organizing events, festivals, and cultural programs. Through his vision, creativity, and leadership, the business has carved a unique identity in the field of event management. Together, the Kundu family continues to embody a legacy of innovation, trust, and commitment—shaping industries, supporting communities, and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs.
On April 3, 2000, the family’s vision became reality with the incorporation of Mali Agri Tech Pvt. Ltd. All four members joined the Board, appointing Mr. Rajarshi Kundu as Managing Director. To ensure a solid financial start against an authorized capital of ₹25 Lakhs, the directors personally invested heavily to generate the necessary funds
The company moved swiftly into action that same year, acquiring 1.98 acres of land. By the end of 2000, they achieved a significant milestone by constructing a 5,600 sq. ft. processing plant, laying a strong foundation for their manufacturing operations.
At this stage company sought financial help from B.O.B. Krishnanagar. They sanctioned 10 lacs towards Term Loan & 10 lacs as C.C. Of this sanction Company took 7.5 lacs as Term Loan and 10 Lacs as C.C. with which they started functioning with production of high yielding Paddy & Jute Seed. Subsequently the company also engaged in production of Mustard Seed, High Breed Fodder, High Breed Sunflower & High Breed Maize.
